Sistah Space is a non profit organisation that supports African & Caribbean heritage women in the UK affected by domestic and sexual abuse.
The charity was founded in response to the murder of Valerie Forde and her 22-month-old daughter 'Baby RJ' by Valerie's ex-partner (and Baby RJ's father).
This murder highlighted the way both race and gender intersect regarding domestic abuse cases and the responses. Sistah Space endeavour to acknowledge cultrual factors that impact Black survivors experiences of domestic abuse
