About Sister2Sister Exchange Program

The Sister2Sister Exchange Program is a public-private partnership led by American University, made possible through the primary support of the U.S. Department of State. In addition, U.S. partner universities donate summer scholarships for undergraduate courses related to the participants' fields of study. The program aims to bring 20 Pakistani female college students every year to attend summer programs in the United States. These young women have defied tremendous socio-economic and cultural odds and made it to professional colleges in Pakistan. Participation in the Sister2Sister Exchange Program serves as an equalizer by offering them the tools, exposure, and confidence to enable continued progress in their education and careers.
