Skate World Better

Skate World Better is a non-profit founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, currently based in Prague, Czech Republic. Our goal is building skateparks in countries where skateboarding does not have a strong tradition, mostly around Africa. Our first project took place in Maputo, Mozambique where we had great success building two skateparks in two different neighborhoods, supporting two local children's organizations. We chose skateboarding because it is a unique discipline where competitiveness is replaced by a joint effort. The activities in the skatepark lead to creating friendships, that can later be applied in other stages and aspects of life. The kids have a chance to grow as a community, learn and play together. We are coming up with interconnected projects, that not only joints multiple activities but also people of all origins with different interests. Once the skateparks are built educational seminars, workshops, concerts, and exhibitions will take place at the locations.
