Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation (SKED) is a 38-year-old nonprofit economic development organization founded by Fifth District Congressman Harold "Hal" Rogers with the help of a group of community leaders in Southeast Kentucky. The organization was created as a regional effort to recruit jobs and industry to Kentucky's Fifth Congressional District, located in Southern Kentucky. At the time, the Fifth District spanned 27 counties. Since then, it has increased to 45. SKED offers a variety of lending opportunities.
