THOMAS VAN WERMESKERKEN, P.ENG. Thomas is a well-established Professional Engineer with over a decade of experience in the construction industry. He is known for quickly finding solutions to complex architectural designs, delivering advanced technical coordination during the design process, and providing excellent service to the contractor throughout construction. Thomas started his career in the industry as a framing carpenter, constructing dozens of buildings from the ground up. He later obtained his engineering degree from the University of British Columbia while working at the Earthquake Engineering Research Facility. He moved into structural consulting through positions at Morrison Hershfield and Wicke Herfst Maver where he designed a wide variety of commercial, industrial, and residential buildings, encompassing all building materials including reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, wood, and mass timber.
