Skew-ME

Skew is a new non-profit based in Portland, Maine with the sole purpose of improving the situation for students with learning differences. All too often the stigma of learning differently causes students embarrassment, anxiety, frustration, and a feeling of alienation. Through self-acceptance, knowledge, understanding one’s learning profile, and finally advocating, students can reach their full potential. Skew will serve as a meeting place for students to connect with other students, for parents to connect with other parents and increase their knowledge of their child’s learning profile, and for teachers and professionals to improve their best practices about how to teach to the full bandwidth of learning styles.
