SKIA Studio is an art and architecture studio based in Mainz, where the Rhine and Main rivers meet.
We study the behavior of light and shadow to create works that are appropriate to their social and urban context. In the context of the global warming crisis, we believe a better understanding of the sun and energy use is essential to create quality public spaces and artworks that enrich our daily experiences.
This approach enables us to work at the interface between art and architecture, utilizing the freedom of artistic intuition and the technical knowledge of architecture. For us, light and shadow, art and architecture, intuition and technology are not opposites; rather, we see these terms as two parallel streams, in whose confluence lies our innovation and our contribution to the built world.
