We are passionate about workplace readiness and empowerment through skill development...ensuring that the next generation has the practical workplace skills to secure and thrive in that first job. Skill Empower (Pty) Ltd T/A Empowerskill has been fortunate that we had over 90 B.Com (Hons) Taxation students from University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg and University of Cape Town on our workplace readiness program for 2021! These students were equipped with the practical application of their theoretical knowledge gained at University to ensure that they have the practical experience through our unique Virtual Reality Simulations to be able to practically apply their wealth of knowledge on day 1 of their world of work. It is difficult for new graduates or diploma holders to enter the world of work because of their lack of experience. Employers in turn only want to appoint new recruits with some experience, due to the high cost of training and skill equipment. In turn, low retention of staff has led to employers questioning whether they will get return on their investment. This is especially true in the scarce skill, high sought after professions, of which Tax Professionals and Accountants form a part of. Through our unique program learners are now be able to put their theoretical knowledge to the test and will be equipped to start their own small advisory businesses, thereby contributing to the fiscus in terms of tax recoveries and also educate the man-on-the street who currently has a very low tax and accounting knowledge and skill base.
