Skills Jersey was formed to ensure Jersey’s workforce is equipped for the future. Our approach involves working with government, employers and industry bodies to secure targeted training opportunities, conduct robust local research and develop innovative solutions.
Skills Jersey comprises the employer-led Skills Board and a Skills Executive formed by the Ministers and Chief Officers for Education, Sport and Culture, Economic Development and Social Security.
The Skills Board is currently chaired by David Witherington (formerly Director, Jersey Advisory and Conciliation Service (JACS) until his retirement in March 2014), and comprises six Board members drawn from industry. There is also representation by Officers from the three States Departments which have responsibility for training and workforce development. The Skills Board meet on a monthly basis and are supported by a full-time Executive Officer.
