We started Shikoku Kagaku Kenkyusho (Shikoku Chemical Research Centre) in 1955, with the philosophy of "Create something from nothing" in the chemical coating field. After 10 years of establishing the basis of the company, we changed the company's name to "Shikoku Kaken Industry Co., Ltd.". Our company kept growing to be a leading architectural coating manufacturer. We changed the name to "SK KAKEN Co., Ltd." in April of 1991 and established our position as a leading company in the architectural coating industry. We listed on JASDAQ (current Tokyo Stock Exchange, Standard Market) in 1993. To be only one and No.1 company, as a global integrated chemical coating and new architectural material manufacturer, we will contribute to creating the architectural culture through the material innovation and new product development including labour saving, energy saving, fireproof, disaster prevention, and high grade decorative products.
