Slovak Chamber of Civil Engineers (SKSI) is an institution which was founded in 1913 that currently unites more than 4,800 active authorized civil engineers and more than 1,100 voluntary members.
The basic principles by which SKSI operates are quality, support, protection and honor. The aforementioned pillars are subsequently reflected in the performance of its activities in individual managed areas:
- oversees the quality of the technical level in the field of design, construction execution and management
- supports the rights of engineers and their professional, social, economic interests and protects their status honor
- protects public interests in the field of spatial planning, design, construction, as well as the legitimate interests of companies
SKSI's key missions include supervision of the professional, legal and honest performance of the engineering profession. SKSI is a member of the European Council of Engineering Chambers ECEC, the European Council of Civil Engineers ECCE and the International Federation of Urban Engineering IFME.
Main activities of SKSI
- organizes and carries out authorization tests and tests of professional competence for construction managers, construction supervisors and energy certification professionals,
- issues authorizations for authorization and professional competence,
- maintains a list of authorized engineers, a register of visiting persons and records of professionally qualified persons for the performance of construction management, supervision and energy certification activities,
- recognizes professional qualifications for civil engineers,
- submits statements regarding the recognition of professional qualifications for the activities of the construction management, supervision and energy certification,
- organizes educational events and seminars for engineers and thus supports the lifelong education of experts in the construction sector,
- supports the publication of professional publications and magazines
