SkyHorn is an innovative crane safety device that gives the operator a wirelessly activated warning horn. Solving the many problems associated with the current standard of a horn located at the crane's cabin, far from the dangerous load position. SkyHorn is located at the hook, dramatically increasing the operators warning potential and ground worker awareness, due to SkyHorns close proximity to the load position.
Construction sites are extremely hazardous. Job site's have many compounding noises including trucks, machines, and tools. This along with the many moving parts and pieces contribute to a high need for awareness and communication within the construction industry, and on the job site.
Additionally, job site's have many workers doing different jobs, but consistently their concentration is on their task, often looking down or ahead but rarely above. There are also many situations where the operator can not see below his load-haul, causing a blind spot. These problems together pose a deadly scenario, rather often.
SkyHorn allows the operator to activate his hook-block mounted horn, wirelessly, in order to warn workers, and innocent bystanders that his load is overhead, incoming, or taking off. Providing the operator a useful tool, and giving him the opportunity to communicate awareness.
