Stay loud, stay legendary. Our Origins Slacker Media Group was founded by Ross Friedman, an entrepreneur who began his career in the music industry at just 16 years old. As a young DJ, Friedman sought to create a nightclub-style experience for his high school peers, leading him to rent the iconic Middle East Downstairs in Cambridge, MA, for a large-scale, all-ages spring event. His inaugural production drew over 400 attendees, marking the beginning of a career in live entertainment that has since expanded his event concepts to more than 50 cities across the United States.
