Slow Roll Buffalo

Slow Roll Buffalo launched in 2014, inspired by the national model originating in Detroit, and was the catalyst for the group ride bicycling culture in Buffalo. Over the last ten years, more than 100,000 riders have participated in our Monday Night Community Rides and special events, and as a result, we are now seen as a model for new Slow Roll chapters nationwide. Slow Roll Buffalo is an inclusive, action-oriented nonprofit that connects people, places, and causes in Western New York through a shared love of bicycling. The causes given a voice at our rides have ranged from legislation such as Clean Slate, NY, to the Humboldt Parkway Restoration Project. We work hard to build and maintain close community connections in all neighborhoods. A powerful example of this impact was our ability to mobilize support quickly following the Racist Mass Shooting at Tops in May 2022. Slow Roll Buffalo works hard to maintain an excellent safety record. Our SQUAD of over 100 volunteers, including expert mechanics, medics, and marshals, is trained to help all riders - from children to seniors, succeed. We are knowledgeable and connected to our city’s neighborhoods and intentionally manage every detail to provide a fun and healthy experience where no one is left behind. Our committed sponsors and our after-party market keep our Monday night rides free so we can grow the diverse, multicultural, and authentic experience we all love.
