SLSE was a program that was started by three young boys who had a vision of a more prosperous India. They believed that the country should not be underdeveloped but should be thriving, and to make that happen, they needed to eradicate poverty and change the economy. To achieve this goal, they decided to start by addressing the issue of food waste in India. Every day, 40% of food was wasted, which was a significant drain on resources. So, they developed a program that provided a van and toll-free number to collect excess food from hotels, lodges, and households and distribute it to the many beggars and poor people who lived on the streets. The van would collect the excess food and distribute it to those who needed it the most, thereby ensuring that people did not have to go hungry at night. This program also saved money that was previously wasted on food. Their ultimate goal was to eradicate poverty in India by empowering people to take control of their economic futures. They believed in creating a more prosperous and developed India, where everyone had an equal opportunity to thrive.
