Our Heritage
With a legacy that soars back to the dawn of aviation history, the roots of the Aerospace Engineering Program at Saint Louis University are intertwined with the pioneering spirit of Oliver Parks. In 1927, he established Parks Air College, which quickly became synonymous with aeronautical prowess. In 1934, the college formally started the Aeronautical Engineering program.
Our Evolution
The evolution continued as our aeronautical engineering program expanded its horizons to become the Aerospace Engineering Program by 1965.
Our Growth
1995 was a landmark year that marked a paradigm shift with the introduction of the Mechanical Engineering Program. This strategic expansion led to the creation of the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.
