SlumRise

SlumRise is a youth-led Community-Based Organization (CBO) dedicated to empowering the community of Mathare, the second-largest slum in Kenya, home to over 500,000 residents. With a focus on improving access to education, vocational training, nutritious meals, and community support, SlumRise addresses the systemic challenges faced by Mathare’s youth, who make up 65% of the population. Founded by individuals who grew up in Mathare, SlumRise leverages firsthand experiences to create sustainable solutions for poverty alleviation, skill-building, and empowerment. We collaborate with local and international partners to promote education, health, and economic opportunities, building brighter futures for Mathare’s youth.
