Smart Adaptive Clothing is universally designed for someone living with a disability, chronic illness, seniors and anyone struggling with dressing. This was conceived in the early part of 2016. It is the result of a need we saw to assist with our father, James "Bo" Connor. Bo, as we called our father unfortunately suffered from Alzheimer's millions of families experience today. 50 million people are living with Alzheimer's globally. Bo was always a proud father, husband and professional. Dressing smartly and always looking sharp was an integral part of Bo's life. While in assisted living Bo always insisted he look his usual smart and well dressed.
As the disease of Alzheimer's progressed we saw Bo experience the inability to properly and fashionably dress himself. Bo experienced dexterity and mobility issues and found it extremely difficult to dress himself. This is how Smart Adaptive Clothing was created. We saw the need to find a solution to make it easier to dress. We created an easy and transformative closure system where you can efficiently dress yourself or another.
