Societies suffer from the lack of proper infrastructures and hence public works professionals, engineers, planners, contractors, policy experts, investors, and others are struggling to build and operate infrastructure. However, more importantly is the sustainable procurement of infrastructures to meet social, environmental and economic concerns. In our lab, in line with international efforts, we are assessing internationally recognized systems (such as Envision) and their application for developing countries. Infrastructure development benefits from public-private partnership as an efficient and effective procurement method. While there exists a large body of research and best practices worldwide (especially those published by the World Bank Group), there is still a high demand for proposing flexible tools and instruments in order to cope with risks and uncertainties involved. Also, efficient frameworks are necessary for the success of PPPs. In our research group, we are enthusiastically working on several aspects of PPP research.
