SmartStart Academy is a Financial Empowerment and Life Skills multi-service provider for young people, aiming to bridge the inequality gap and make essential information accessible for everyone. We offer a range of resources such as in-person and virtual workshops, 1-1s, small group sessions, and sessions for teachers and education providers.
Our services are designed for young people between the ages of 5-18, with age-specific services created to deliver essential education in a fun and innovative way.
In order to provide the most essential information for young people to be prepared for the post-education world, our services have three central focuses: personal finances, housing (renting and buying), and employment, tax & pensions.
We believe that providing this necessary information enables essential preperation for real-world challenges, therefore creating better futures for young people.
Although our services are designed for all young people across the UK, we specifically strive to help those from deprived areas/backgrounds. Statistically, these young people are the least likely to receive any form of financial education in schools despite being the most disadvantaged and therefore most likely to face financial challenges post-education. Therefore, we offer generous concessions for all low-income and disabled students who use our platform both privately or via their education provider.
Accessibility is also an essential part of what we do. Therefore, we are currently in the process of designing SEN, BSL, and visual impairment suitable services.
