Smashing Patriarchy

Smashing Patriarchy is a learning community of over 6,000 like-minded members who span across various platforms, and gather to embark on the journey of dismantling, divesting and healing from colonial patriarchy and systemic abuse. We delve deeply into: 💥 The rise, history and persistence of colonial patriarchy and systemic abuse. 💥 How colonial patriarchy is a system of domination, dehumanisation, slavery and oppression 💥 How we dismantle, divest and heal from colonial patriarchy 💥 How we restore balance, seek justice and step into our personal power and sovereignty The definition/s of Patriarchy we subscribe to are as defined by bell hooks: “Patriarchy is a political-social system where males are endowed with the right to dominate and rule over the weak and maintain that dominance through various forms of psychological terrorism and violence.” We discuss the rise of patriarchy across history and cultures, but default to Patriarchy in its current euro-centric form being the interlocking political systems of “Imperialist White-Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchy” also as defined by hooks, and/or the “Matrix of Domination” as defined by Patricia Hill Collins. We discuss colonial patriarchy and systemic abuse from a trauma informed, social justice, abolitionist and intersectional lens.
