SMC is a pre-clinical CRO (Contract Research Organization) founded in 2014 with a mission to accelerate drug research and development through our focused fibrosis and inflammatory expertise.
We have supported over 600 pharmaceutical companies, bio-ventures and academics from over 29 countries with our cutting-edge research and pharmacology studies using our mouse models specialized for inflammation and fibrosis, including liver disease (NASH, NAFLD, Cirrhosis, HCC, ALF), IPF, CKD, IBD, SSc and cancer. In particular, our unique NASH-HCC model (STAM model) is a mouse model with high clinical correlation - 15 compounds tested in the model having progressed to clinical trials.
