About SMEA
The SMEA (Sistemi Macchine Energia Ambiente - Systems Machinery Energy Environment) research group focuses on the energy conversion, covering several topics: - Integration of non-programmable renewable energy sources and storage solutions - Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) systems and Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems - Energy systems based on gas turbines with advanced thermodynamic cycles - Power-to-X - Analysis of energy systems based on hydrogen as energy vector - Combustion, study of energy systems fed with biomass derived fuels and Waste-to-Energy systems - Cogeneration and trigeneration - District heating and cooling
