Women in Mining (WIM) is a sub-division within the Students in Mining Engineering Society (SMES) structure at the University of the Witwatersrand. WIM is largely aimed at bringing women together, empowering them in their academic career and further extend a helping hand to their journey in the employment space. This sub-division is intended to elevate women in the school of mining. To encourage participation, and bring women forward in occupying leadership positions; strengthen relationships and ultimately grow the mining community.
