In 2005 Peter Robinson, Jeremy Mclean and their business partner used their combined skills and experience in hardware and software engineering and GPS and mobile data technologies to develop a start-up focused on targeting private individuals wanting know the location of their cars and whether they were speeding, stolen or crashed. What the partners quickly realised was that their GPS tracking software had other more commercial uses and so ArmadaGPS a web-based fleet management solution was born. This fleet-sized product has evolved into a cutting edge solution for many companies offering them in the opportunity to track their vehicles in real-time and also reduce their vehicle costs. Snitch Inc now works with almost 1000 businesses from, Auckland Council down to SMEs. As with a majority of Snitch’s user-based development, it was guided and encouraged by their enthusiastic customer base and is now the core base of ArmadaGPS. The level of detail available from TruePath tracking gives the user an instant view of the vehicle’s activity, it monitors driver behaviour and runs reports on the vehicles history. This provides a level of visulisation and accuracy never seen before in GPS vehicle tracking technology.
