HiØ Green Research Hub

This pilot research facility is part of the Østfold University College that caters to the SNUG EU and Interreg Green Sponge Buildings projects. As a scale-up lab, this facility offers integration of innovative technologies and test them in real-world applications, thus serving as a testing ground for high-performance, climate resilient urban infrastructure with green walls. This facility also houses two twin pilot research rooms where researchers test out a smart material to reduce energy consumption and reduce high energy peaks during the main hours of the day. We carry out measurements in the rooms to create a healthier and more comfortable indoor environment, and developing a digital tool that can monitor energy use and the indoor climate for residents.
