Soapbox Science is an international outreach initiative that gives to women and non-binary scientists a platform in public spaces, following the Hyde Park’s Speaker’s Corner model: female and nonbinary scientists talk about their research to the passers-by from their small podium (soapboxes).
By this mean, the Soapbox Science outreach platform intends to:
– Promote the visibility of female and nonbinary scientists;
– Achieve a wider participation of society in science.
The local organisation Soapbox Science Brussels was founded in 2019. In 2024, the local organisation team is preparing their 5th event of June 29, 2024 in Brussels.
