The Social Development Committee Haifa - جمعية التطوير الاجتماعي حيفا

The Social Development Association has been working for 40 years for, and with, the Arab community in Haifa to improve our reality and obtain our rights. Our theory of change is motivated by our extended experience of working with the Arab society in Haifa and our desire to see it thrive. We believe that proper investment in organizing communities around issues of their interest, enhancing awareness of their role in social responsibility, and strengthening their capacities to act, leads to community groups that are aware, capable, and engaged in creating social change that improves their quality of their life. Our four current core programs include: Haifa Shared City: Creating a rights-based community that organizes and mobilizes for advocacy and lobby work in issues related to the civil rights of Arabs in Haifa. Act4Change: A project that empowers Arab youth in Haifa and transforms them into active voices of social change. Social Fabric: Address and strengthen the endangered social fabric of Arabs in Haifa, with a focus on engaging elderly and vulnerable populations in social weaving. Organizational Development: Equip the Social Development Association to focus on outcome harvesting, impact orientation, and high effectiveness overall. This project focuses on our staff, board, and members.
