Social - Event & Experience Agency

Social is a creative events agency based in Christchurch with a focus on celebrations, large themed dinners, cocktail parties, outdoor festivals, sponsorship and brand multi-site activations. We have a passion for creating unique social experiences for guests that are hugely memorable and love working with clients who share the same mindset! Event Director and Owner is Melissa Haberfield who has over 20 years experience in the events, tourism, international sales and marketing fields. She has worked in NZ’s largest tourism companies, international hotel groups, on cruise ships, set up and run four businesses of her own and has visited 126 countries (and counting!). Melissa also has a strong interest in governance and has been a director on a range of commercial and not for profit boards for the last 7 years. Lucy Chappell is our Senior Event Manager with a background in design & styling. Lucy joined social at the beginning of 2018 after a 7 year stint in London and Melbourne working for leading agencies on a number of world class events including the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Australian Grand Prix and numerous brands such as David Jones, Nandos and Etsy. With an eye for detail, Lucy is our resident go to for design, sourcing creative ideas and gathering inspiration.
