SOCIALHACK

SOCIAL HACK is a forum that enables social innovation through the Internet-of-Things (IoT). It brings together charities, startups and corporates around solving complex social challenges. In the process, it creates shared value by helping charities innovate their programs, while also helping startups and corporates develop new product-service systems. SOCIAL HACK launched at Spark Festival in 2017. In its inaugural year, it explored how to tackle social issues related to 'Work' and 'Food' through the practical application of IoT technology to consumer goods. IoT & Work These panel talks explored the topics of vocational training and continuing professional development on Monday 16 October 2017. IoT & Food These panel talks explored the topics of food waste management and urban farming on Tuesday 17 October 2017. The forum was produced with Benojo and supported by its founding sponsor, Lendlease. It was accompanied by an industry symposium entitled 'Enabling Social Innovation through IoT', which was produced with the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce and hosted by UTS Business School.
