"Time for Change" The Social Democratic Liberal Party or SODELPA was registered on the 2nd of May 2013 with the Fiji Elections Office and is the successor to the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL) Party founded by the late Prime Minister, Hon. Laisenia Qarase which was removed from office through a military coup in December 2006. SODELPA contested in the 2014 National Elections under the imposed 2013 Constitution after eight years of military rule gaining 15 seats and then 2018 securing a total of 21 seats in the 51 seats of Parliament. In 2022, the Party contested the General Election, unfortunately, was able to secure only 3 seats in Parliament making us the 'king maker' whether to coalesce with FijiFirst or the The People's Alliance Party (PAP) and National Federation Party (NFP). At a narrow margin, the Management Board opted for PAP and NFP, bringing the 16 years of the Bainimarama-Khaiyum regime to an end. Our Executives Party Leader: Hon.
