S.O.F.A Film Festival showcases local and international films relating to animals, animal welfare, conservation and the environment. There are two events per year, one live with invited films (when COVID-19 restrictions allow) and one two-day online festival with films submitted to us via FilmFreeway.
To have access to our online screenings the public subscribe to our screening platform on Xerb (from March 2021) and then have the opportunity to vote for their favourite film. The winner will receive an official certificate. Subscribers also have access to our sister festival S.O.F.A Tails plus films, articles and interviews throughout the year.
The live screenings are held in cosy venues and bring animal lovers together for a day of sharing stories, learning and networking. Some screenings are used as fundraisers to help local animals, animal welfare and environmental projects. The recipient organisations are chosen depending on the theme of the film.
