The State of Fem Art

First introduced in 2021 through a free-standing virtual gallery post-pandemic, The State of Fem Art was birthed out of SheROCKS, an event showcasing women in visual and performing arts and celebrating today’s culture curators who are changing our world. After a decade, SheROCKS officially transitioned into a flagship event underneath The State of Fem Art in March 2023. The State of Fem Art® (SOFemArt) is a community of artists and advocates committed to amplifying the voices and work of women artists through mentorship, events, resources, opportunities, funding, and intention. We're putting a lens back on raw talent, putting resources in the hands of artists, and putting the power of amplification back into the hands of fans to work towards a more equitable arts, entertainment, and tech industry. We believe empowering women artists is great, but activating women artists gives them the power to change the world. For this reason, we aim to create opportunities for 1M+ women artists globally to be seen, hired, funded, and supported through our community by 2033. Our community is inclusive and strives to make sure that the lived experiences and work of our beautifully diverse creative community remain respected and honored as they reflect the beauty and diversity of our world. Together, we can create spaces and opportunities for women artists to bloom —unapologetically.
