SoftStone, Inc. is committed to the emotional well-being of all children. Karen Stone, President and CEO, believes strongly from her personal background of being bullied at home and at school and her 45 years experience in education, that the only way to raise children today is to incorporate emotional intelligence skill learning into all they say and do. Research has finally been made available that corroborates this and shows that with EQ personal and academic success is greatly enhanced. EQ is the ability to understand and manage ones emotions allowing for the capacity of blending thinking and feeling optimizing all decision making...from the simplest to the most complex. Karen has dedicated her life to developing a powerful and easy to implement EQ program for parents and teachers. Her personal journey was not sufficient until she herself developed these skills. The "Voices of CJ" program is easy, engaging and uses the power of charismatic characters to help young children, birth to 10, learn the EQ language when the emotional centers of the right brain are developing the fastest. This program integrates right and left brain learning with behaviors and actions that promote the development of this synergy. CJ, our Creator of Joy and his family of characters, playfully mentor children to use their voices and actions to feel and develop the social and emotional learning critical to their personal and academic success. Currently, there is the CJ Children's book, CD, parent and teacher guides and materials for building EQ at home and in classrooms. Our website, www.EQforChildren.com, is filled with EQ information and an interactive array of games and activities that give children along with their parents and teachers ways to interact and choose these EQ skills and behaviors. Karen has written her story called, "Is Your Child's World Emotionally Safe," soon to be published and available everywhere. The time is now to raise a new generation of EQ children!
