Why SoilHawk?
The State of Ohio is requiring farmers to test their soil. SoilHawk™ helps farmers to save on labor and avoid inaccurate soil tests. With SoilHawk, one person can now collect accurate, pure soil samples from hundreds of acres per day.
SoilHawk's inventor, James Case, is an Ohio farmer who needed an automated sampling device. He researched the market and couldn’t find anything that met his basic criteria. So he designed SoilHawk with the following criteria in mind.
1 - Scrape away surface debris.
2 - Probe the soil.
3 - Eject soil sample(s) into a standard paper soil sample bag.
4 - Repeat the process to fill up to 30 bags without having to exit his vehicle.
There is nothing like SoilHawk and it is patent pending. Here are some of advantages of using SoilHawk:
Save time and labor. The driver operates SoilHawk with a remote control. No need for an additional person.
Accurate soil samples. SoilHawk has a scraper that removes surface organic material down to clean dirt. The hydraulic probe then removes a clean soil core. This helps keep surface contamination from skewing the soil testing results.
Adjustable probing depth. SoilHawk probing depths are very simple to adjust and set.
Mass Soil Sampling. SoilHawk can sample up to 3 probes per minute!
SoilHawk has 30 bag holders on a conveyor belt. Collect 30 sets of soil samples with no need to exit the vehicle between samples. You can select for the desired number of cores per bag.
Each bag holder holds a standard paper soil sample bag. When you have filled 30 bags, put the full bags into the storage cabinet. Then load 30 more empty bags into the bag holders. You can do this as many times as you’d like with no need to leave the fields.
Keep Zone or Grid Samples Separated. Soil sample bag holders are color-coded. This makes it easy to keep the soil samples separated and sorted.
Easy to Transport. We make SoilHawk’s built-in trailer from light, rust-free aluminum with floater tires. Tow SoilHawk with your side-by-side or almost anything that has a trailer hitch.
Haul your side-by-side together with the SoilHawk with an available transport trailer.
More Features. SoilHawk also features a built-in camera to see the probe site while probing. Plus a sensor that causes the probe to abort if it hits something solid such as a rock.
