Solace Avenue Studio deals with unique & trendy Sambalpuri patterns which are produced using the Ikkat or bandh kala technique, where the yarn is dyed before the weaving process begins. Once the dyeing process is complete the yarn is taken for weaving. In accordance with the colored warp or weft, we the artisans weave a range of patterns that depict birds, wheels, flowers, etc. Designing a Sambalpuri textile is an important initial stage of its production. Certain motifs and patterns that have come down the ages—e.g., flowers, animals, birds, leaves, creepers, and symbols attached to our mythology like the kalasha or purna kumbha (brimming vessel, whose symbolism in the visual arts is discussed in Bäumer form a significant part of this textile tradition.
