Established in 2006 by the current management team, SOLFEX energy systems is one of the original & largest specialist distributors in the UK of high quality renewable energy systems, specifically focusing on solar thermal and photovoltaic power products, Air Source Heat Pumps & Underfloor heating systems. The company origins are founded on supplying the solar thermal sector with its exclusive ‘own branded’ solar thermal equipment supplied by Europe’s leading manufacturers. In 2009, the company broadened its renewables offering with the setup of a sales division focussed on the supply of photovoltaic equipment. The decision to set up a new photovoltaic division prior to the introduction of the Feed in Tariff (“FIT”) in 2010 proved to be a wise move; in 2010 SOLFEX energy systems relocated to a new larger distribution facility to accommodate increased stock holding and the considerable sales growth being achieved. In January 2013, SOLFEX Energy systems was acquired by the Travis Perkins group, one of the UK’s leading companies in the builders’ merchant and home improvement markets. They operate 16 businesses from more than 1,800 sites across the UK and Ireland. SOLFEX energy systems will form an essential part of an integrated approach by Travis Perkins to energy efficient building. From a SOLFEX energy systems point of view, we’ve continually stayed ahead in terms of new innovation and developing strong relationships with our suppliers to provide the renewable energy products installers require. The launch of the Green Deal, full implementation of the Renewable Heat Incentive and stability around the existing Feed in Tariff, when considered alongside rising energy prices, demonstrates that renewable energy products will become an increasingly important feature of new and existing buildings.
