The mission of the Solid Community Foundation - Netherlands is to realize responsible and secure data sharing based on open standards and based on values such as self-determination, freedom of choice, trust and transparency. We see technology as a means to contribute to a human-centered, friendly and safe user experience in the digital space. About Solid Solid is an initiative of the founder of the World Wide Web, Sir Tim Berners Lee. It originates from the vision to make the web more secure by organizing identities, data and applications differently. It creates opportunities to organize the sharing of data in a more secure and responsible manner. It can improve the user experience and the service of organisations. From a technical perspective Solid is an umbrella under which various open technical specifications fall together with trusted W3C standards.
