Ikelos NGO

The non-profit organization "IKELOS”, was founded in 2014 in Greece and it is officially recognized and registered in the Greek national catalog of non-profit organizations that are activated in social health section in Greece. The registration number of the organization is 07208ΣΥΕ11096Ο14Ν-1382. Additionally, the organization is also registered in the national catalog of non-profit organizations that are activated in social economy field in voluntary basis, with registration number: 07208ΣΥΕ11096Ο14-1267. The organization consists of a satisfactory amount of active members. The members of ‘’Ikelos’’ derived from a large variety of specialties like doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, general practitioners, social workers, nurses and economists. The aim of the association is to contribute to the improvement of public health. More specifically, “IKELOS” is active in the below fields: • Prevention of public health and improvement of health services already provided in children and adults. This field of action, includes the areas of mental health, autism, elderly care etc. • Active participation in the reform of health sector of Greece for the good of the society. • Awareness of the society and decision making groups, public and private actors regarding the importance of health in general and more specific in the field of prevention, development of health education programs and social perception. • Provision of citizens -that need health assistance- with health services that will assist and drive to better diagnosis and treatment of health issues like mental disorders, autism, addiction to drugs, etc. • Establishment of modern facilities that will: - Adequately cover the needs of patients for successful treatment of mental or physical health problems of children or adults (Daily healthcare Centers, Mobile healthcare Units, ICT for Health). - Improve the living conditions for all patients. Especially, for the financially weaker ones.
