Sommelier Selection

Since 2002, Sommelier Selection has been exclusively specializing in the selection of independent boutique wineries from France, Italy and Spain. We advocate authenticity. While most are aware of prestigious labels, those from other parts of Europe are either misunderstood or virtually unknown. It is in here that Sommelier Selection seeks to instill a wine culture highlighted by diversity, discovery and value from our portfolio of authentic selections from the most reputable wine artisans. We select wines, winemakers and wine estates that best reflects Europe’s regional identities. The result is a 260-selection wine list that is truly representative, covering 20 major wine growing regions in France and Italy, more than 100 appellations, an array of some 75 grape varieties, and about 60 winemakers. The selection is thorough and extensive, starting with an in-depth research, proceeding then to personal visits to each individual estate, meeting the winemakers and conducting comparative tastings of literally, hundreds of wines prior to inclusion on our list. Our portfolio is a true reflection and the closest link to the wine landscape, culture and tradition. Wine is still and shall remain a product of agriculture. In its centuries of history, elder generations of artisans have perfected their knowledge of the grapes’ ideal growing environment, mastered the golden equation of land, soil, climate, man, and advocated an unsurpassed respect to their agricultural methods and traditional winemaking processes. This symbiosis or ‘terroir’ is their ancestral recipe. The best expressions of "terroir" is what Sommelier Selection strives to search for, qualified with a genuine understanding of the wine landscape, culture, tradition, and its winemakers.
