SOPROICAM voit le jour en 2006, sous l’impulsion de M. DIFFO et M. KOLO YVES ATANGANA, convaincus de pouvoir créer des unités industrielles par leur savoir-faire, leur expérience, et la richesse locale en matières premières. L’aventure débute alors avec l’installation et la mise en exploitation d’une raffinerie d’huile de palme à Douala.
En 2011, l’ascension industrielle se poursuit, avec la mise en service d’une savonnerie mettant à disposition un savon de ménage de qualité supérieure à Douala.
En 2014, la structure s’oriente vers la transformation du soja avec le montage d’une usine à Yato, produisant d’une part de l’huile raffinée de soja, et d’autre part le tourteau de soja destiné à l’alimentation animale. SOPROICAM prend alors part au programme AGROPOLE, pour dynamiser la filière soja dans la région septentrionale et se lance également dans la culture agricole du soja et du maïs à Ngaoundéré.
