Southern Oregon Research & Extension Center (SOREC) was formed in 1994 when the Southern Oregon Experiment Station was combined with the Jackson County Extension Service.
Our research and outreach work aims supports the sustainability and profitability of agriculture, and the quality of life in Southern Oregon. Through applied research and the delivery of objective, research-based information, we help local farmers, ranchers, growers, and citizens solve problems, develop leadership skills, maintain economic vitality, promote community health and well-being, and manage resources wisely.
