For decades North America has upheld strict sanctions against Iran, but in 2016 many of those sanctions were ended, specifically where they concerned agricultural goods. Combined with the growing North American “foodie” culture this presented a tremendous opportunity to aid struggling farmers and introduce the most gourmet spice on Earth to North American food enthusiasts. Sortala was founded with the vision of sharing the delicacies of the East throughout the West starting with saffron. Promising to keep prices low and these rare gourmets accessible the three Founders view Sortala as a sort of cultural exchange. Sortala doesn’t just sell the finest saffron and seasonings from the East, but prioritizes education first and foremost.
