For 31 years, Sound Cell/Smith Music Group Inc. has provided the North Alabama area with the largest and most up-to-date recording facility in the area. S.M.G. Inc. (Smith Music Group) has successfully developed many artists and writers, most notably multi-Grammy winners/nominees Take 6, Brian McKnight, Brandon Barnes and Claire Lynch. Over the years, founder Doug Jansen Smith has captained success in talent development and artist management, as well as production, songwriting/publishing, engineering and studio management. We have been leaders in our market since we began business in 1980 because we know our strength is not in the number of knobs and buttons, (although we have our share of those). We believe in providing any client -- large or small -- the best we have to offer in every arena, in any way we can. With 25 years of experience and success we think we have a lot to offer.
