Our mission is to promote and protect the health of people in Southeast Georgia, wherever they live, work and play, uniting with individuals, families and communities to improve and enhance their quality of life.
We have over 300 employees and 16 county health departments. The dedication and dependability of our employees have helped keep this health district in front and leading the way for public health in Georgia.
Our main district office is located in Waycross, GA. Our health departments are located in the counties of Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Bulloch, Candler, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Evans, Jeff Davis, Pierce, Tattnall, Toombs, Ware and Wayne.
The Southeast Health District has:
- A nationally recognized HIV care system that provides primary care and support services to patients and families affected by HIV/AIDS.
- A robust Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program with breastfeeding support and nutrition education.
