SELCAT

SELCAT is a non-profit Registered Apprenticeship with the United States Department of Labor and has been since September 2, 1971. SELCAT, like 8 other AJATC’s, are thanks to a successful partnership between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and the National Electrical Contractors Association. SELCAT is a “Earn as you Learn” on the job training program, with some of the industry’s top paying employers. Apprentice’s are given jobs with top paying union, wages and benefits from the very beginning. Also, SELCAT apprentices have ZERO tuition to pay! Another amazing fact about SELCAT, we are also registered with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. This registration allows veterans in our program to receive any GI Bill/Post 911 (or other educational benefits) monthly and use it for anything they wish! SELCAT’s DOL and VA registrations have also allowed us to create a new Department of Defense approved SkillBridge program. SkillBridge programs like ours, allow active Service Members to attend pre-apprenticeship programs while still receiving their military pay and benefits.
