South Kent Mind

South Kent Mind is an independent charity operating across the Folkestone and Dover districts which provides support, information and advice to anyone who has experienced or is experiencing mental distress, and their circles of support. We share the view that without mental health there is no health. Most of us have either experienced mental distress ourselves or through relatives and friends. We understand how difficult it can be for anyone exposed to mental distress and the impact this can have on others and society in general. We believe that as a part of our work we should offer hope and support for people to recover and live their lives on their own terms. Everyone has a contribution to make and has a voice to be heard regardless of their mental health. Peer support is a large focus of how we behave and how we view services, asking the experts by experience. Working alongside people to support independence, autonomy and confidence we celebrate our diversity and uniqueness.
