Thinking of who are SPABLES? Well, Spables are specially-abled, differently-abled, just like the rest but with special or different abilities. Around 15% of the global population, over a billion people, live with some form of disability or as we say a different or a special ability. Spables are amongst us and around us - in our family, friends, office, neighbourhood, school, malls, trains, planes yet striving to be a part of us.
Often disability is perceived as the inability or labeled with separate tags of blind, deaf, dumb, handicap, physically challenged, autistic, mentally retarded, and what not. What is often missed in this labeling - is the ABILITY. The special ability to overcome all the hurdles and psychological limitations to do, to achieve with “BEING DIFFERENT”
Each one of us is trying to be different and unique in this race of life, however, Spables are blessed for being different in the first place.
Spables is an effort to spread awareness of the special abilities of differently-abled. They talk, walk, see, think but just not like the majority of people, they do it differently in their own unique & special way. This difference comes with their special efforts and abilities. This is an initiative to make people aware of and respect the differences. It’s not about seeking pity; it’s about making friends, inclusion, equality, respect, compassion, and loads of love.
