Space Oasis Delft

Space Oasis Delft is a student Dream Team, situated on the campus of the TU Delft. With students from backgrounds in architecture, engineering, biology and more, we design and construct a Martian habitat on Dutch soil to facilitate long-term space missions. As we challenge the extreme environments of Mars, we design from the following three principles: adaptability, circularity and human-centred design. The base should be adaptable to radiation, dust storms and unbreathable air, while using the in situ resources sparingly. To support the astronauts partaking in this mission on Mars, both the design of the base and life support systems need to involve design for physical and mental health. That is why we need a multidisciplinary approach. Architects, psychologists, electrical and structural engineers, we call out to all! Together, we take the next leap into the future.
