SpaceCar

SpaceCar is a free app that allows college students to connect with classmates at their university, for the purpose of carpooling long distances. Users login with their .edu email address and post as a Rider requesting a ride, or a Driver offering a ride. When two users match, they use in-app messaging to confirm their trip details, are given a unique Ride ID to allow loved ones to track their ride in real time, and split the cost of gas via Venmo when they arrive at their destination. The platform is free for university students and is currently available on five campuses: the University of Texas at Austin, St. Edward's University, the University of North Texas, Baylor University and the University of South Carolina.
